Photographers in the News
Congratulations to the three amazing photographers that we're featuring this month!
Alicia Dal Lago of Alicia Photography has operated one of the best-loved portrait studios in western Pennsylvania for nearly 25 years. She is known for her engaging portraiture and personality as well as her professionalism and compassion. Recently, one of her images was selected to receive a Kodak Gallery Award. Her image will now be entered to compete for the prestigious Gallery Elite Award. Best of luck!

Thomas Delegram's image (left) was featured in the November/December issue of Pennsylvania magazine. Pittsburgh natives will surely recognize this scene from the West End overlook, but what you may not know is that this is a photograph of the first ever light up night! Thomas photographed this image in 1960 using a 4x5 film camera.

Jim Kuhn of Jim Kuhn Photography recently contributed to an article in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. On the topic of giving and receiving thanks, here's what he had to say "It's great...It just makes you feel good...It makes you feel like you're doing something right."

Photographer Spotlight (August) - Derrell Carter
Welcome to our Photographer's Spotlight!
Each month, we will be highlighting a Filmet photographer that goes above and beyond to create memorable images for their clients.
This month's photographer is Derrell Carter of the Carter Collection Photography and Design. Derrell's studio is located in Beaver Falls, PA (about 30 minutes outside of Pittsburgh.) His images are modern and edgy, and his post-production skills are out of this world. Derrell's images have a dream-like blend of photography and graphic design that have launched him to the top of the pack.
Here's what he had to say:
"With over 20 years in the industry I have found that my ability to combine graphic art with photography have propelled me to express my gift in a creative and unique manner. My style is considered to be vibrant and edgy with a touch of urban grunge, and is fueled by high-end fashion photography. God has blessed me to conceptualize an idea into a vision that both my client and I can really love. Photography and graphics in not only my passion, it is my voice."

Great Opportunity!
Professional photographers in our area have a great opportunity to attend this weekends PPA of PA's seminars and trade show for free!
Here is what's going on:
Tim Priest is just back from speaking at Imaging USA in Nashville and is on the ticket at the Professional Photographers of Ohio Convention in March before traveling to photograph a wedding in Sydney Australia. His unique application of fashion for weddings and high school seniors will certainly set you apart from the competition and give you some great ideas to apply to your own business. Word on the street is that the ladies will really love this guy - whatever that means !
Jeff Gump takes sports photography to a level that most would not have thought possible. Most of us have photographed the occasional baseball or soccer teams but Jeff's system has revolutionized the concept into a very lucrative full time business. You will be amazed at the possibilities of his EXTREME sports photography.

Enjoy!
Every once in a while an image comes through our "doors" that makes us smile. During the holiday season we receive tons of cards spanning the range of emotions from cute to heart-warming to hilarious.
This card from Bill and Mandi of Biandi Photography and Art made such an impression that we had to share it with all of you!
Did I mention that Bill won best first-time entrant, best wedding image, and best of show at Triangle's print competition recently? Oh...and Mandi was asked to display her artwork in a gallery show coming up! Our hats go off to a great couple and great photographers! Check out their website here: http://www.biandiarts.com
